New names for Jovian moons

Post #1by The Singing Badger » 03.04.2005, 02:52

For those who care about such things, some of the tiny Jovian moons discovered in 2003 were recently given names by the IAU. You might want to update your 'numbered moons' ssc file.

Incidentally, J22/Thelxinoe seems to be missing from that file.

2002 J1 = Arche
2003 J1 = Eukelade
2003 J6 = Helike
2003 J7 = Aoede
2003 J8 = Hegemone
2003 J11 = Kallichore
2003 J13 = Cyllene
2003 J20 = Carpo
2003 J21 = Mneme
2003 J22 = Thelxinoe

I had 2003 J22 in my file. With the named moons in numberedmoons.ssc, shouldn't they be moved to minormoons.ssc because they are not just numbered now?
