What happens to your bump-map?? have you uploaded it??
OK, let me stand by my promise of providing a bump-map
texture for my recent 4k Titan...but be warned:
This is NOT my usual scientific standard!
Nevertheless, it was great fun to do last week! Of course,
this work was heavily inspired by a bottle of great German
beer...So maybe you enjoy the result as I actually do.
Before showing you some little "exhibition" of what a 'harmless'
bumpmap can do to the mysterious world of Titan, here are
the required files for download:
http://www.shatters.net/~t00fri/titan4k-bumpy.zip
Just substitute the new 'titan.ssc' in the extras/titan folder and
copy the 'titan-bump.png' into titan/textures/medres.
That's all...
If there is more interest, I have made quite a number of
(partly much less 'provocative') further bumpmaps. In case
people like to play a bit more...
Anyway, I think the following screenshots convey significantly
more of a strangely inspiring atmosphere than some of the
recent ficticious worlds I could "admire" in the 'Add-ons'
department. Nature tends to be much more "inventive" than
just 'repainting' e.g. Saturn in strange colors...
So, here comes...
The mysterious, bumpy world of Titan

The Huygens landing site is to the left (but just invisible).
Look at the 'river-bed' that extends over close to 1000 km in this shot close to the South pole!!
Enjoy,
