Problem with Iraq Cities by JDOU

Hi,
first of all i wanna say i'm very glad to stay here in this great forum. :D
Now the problem......for my Celestia Earth Surface i've choose the "64K Jestr Earth Mark II (VT/DDS)" .
I've installed all "Close up" texture without any problem.....except for the "IRAQ_Cities_L5-10_BM32K.zip" by jdou.
When i zoom into level, the three city (bagdat, falluja and najaf) texture are replaced with "grey square"........why?

I have another problem......when i open a .dds image (with a graphic program) of "level 12" i see GREAT detail.....but when i zoom with celestia it seems the program not arrive at this level......it's only an impression?
(for example "Seattle" and "Egypt Piramid close up")

Sorry for this stupid question and for my terrible english ;)

Bye and thanks in advance for all :D

Hi Jekoz,

Sorry for that, but the size 4096x4096 of the 2 VT "tx_1275_322.dds and tx_1276_322.dds" is too large for some graphic cards  .
Try to resize with Irfanview or another pictures editor or viewer these 2 tiles to 2048x2048.
To define the size maxi you can use, run Celestia, click on the Help menu then OpenGL info -> Max texture size: xxxx

I need to work again to improve this add-on with the new levels added in the v1.4.0pre6, but the problem is the time to spend for that :?

Great!!! :D
Thanks for all Jdou....the "OpenGL info" say my ATI Radeon 9700 Pro support only 2048.
I've reduced the texture with photoshop and now all is ok......thanks again, you are doing a GREAT job with Your texture.....if You make a new release i'll be the first to download it. :D

Bye
