Request; help document or sticky: Best Graphics Cards

Hi,
Is this worth considering (or, does this exist and I've not found it yet):
A sticky or help document noting various and/or recommended video cards/card configs and their advantages, drawbacks and workarounds for different platforms and systems?
I'm thinking even a gross-level (e.g., "for celestia 1.4, X is generally better than Y") review is a good start.

Have you looked at the "Preliminary Users FAQ" that's a sticky near the top of the Celestia Users Forum?

Although it isn't organized very well, it does list some of the cards and their advantages.

Briefly, Nvidia cards have more functionality than the comparable ATI cards. An FX 5200 is adequate. Higher numbers are faster. Any GF 6xxx class card will provide the functionality needed for new features planned for the next major release of Celestia after v1.4.0.
