One new thing I know Chris is working on is Comets with trails 8)

I have read that he is or was a ill, that's the reason for the delay.

Personally I don't mind waiting, I just wish I was experienced in coding or some other such computing area so I could lend a hand.

Very close to having it ready . . . I just added a feature to allow including info URL's per body. The eclipse finder is in good shape . . . I just need to finish comets.

Just ordered a 21" flatscreen monitor (for ?200 :ODD) so bring on Celestia at 1600x1200 and watch my graphics card fall to its knees.

Okay this is great, just found this program (last week)
and already getting a new version

Chriss will the add feature work better this time

as it dosn't go back to the planet you added after a restart
just hangs in space till you press G

Also could you make it so that Names dont show through planets ?

You mean, the way that the name of a planet still shows if another planet is in the way? But that's a useful feature!

well I agree that the name can be very usefull

But if you want to look at a planet close up
but alot of the other planets happen to be behind it
you geta mass of green letters all over your loveley new texture

its easy enought to just zoom out and around it to find the rest of the names.

Or you could turn of planet labels when zoomed in by pressing 'P' (I think). Then turn them back on when you need to see them again.

Not only turn off planet labels, but you may want to turn off the moon labels by pressing 'm'.

Just include a line something like this in the object description:

InfoURL "http://www.foo.com/myplanet.html"

There's one example in the solarsys.ssc include file . . . Check out the definition of Varuna . . .
