I didn't know where else this might be appropriate...
Is there any way that I can change my handle from "Dollan" to "John M. Dollan"? I know that the profile page doesn't allow it. Could someone in Admin do it, though?
It's not important enough to create whole new profile, though; I was merely curious.

It is up to the administrator whether users can change their name or not, it's one of the options available in the administration panel. If you are in a forum where you can change your username, you can do it in your profile page.
I think it would be a good idea to be able to change usernames, I wouldn't mind doing it myself.
