Looking for Jens' 2k Mercury Texture

Post #1by Bob Hegwood » 30.12.2004, 05:20

Hi all,

I have managed to delete my 2k Mercury texture from Jens, and I can't
seem to locate it via the net. Shatters Net file is missing, and so is the one
on Jens' and Motherlode's pages.

Does anyone know where I can download this file again?

Thanks, Old Brain-Dead

Thanks Jeam, but no they don't. I've searched the net from top to bottom,
but the links I found all point to Shatters.net, and there's no file there by
that name now. <sigh>

Thanks for the help though.

Take care, Bob

Hi Bob,

Sorry, I don't know if Chris will restart this part of shatters.net.
I've uploaded a reviced 2k version of my Mercury texture to motherload - I hope you like it. :-)

Bye Jens

Thanks a lot, Jim...

I don't see the new texture there yet, but I'll get it as soon as I do see it.
Wanted to use YOUR texture for a tour of Mercury, since it is the most
accurate (and the easiest to see features on) texture map I've found of the
planet.

I've spent about two weeks comparing textures to the actual Mariner 10
images, and your texture is the only one this Brain-Dead geezer can match
real features too.

Do you mind if I include your texture with my Tour of Mercury when it's
finished?

Thanks, Bob

Now it seem that all of the motherlode guy's are in holiday. ;-)
When tomorrow nothing happens I will send it via mail to you.

I've restored Jens's, Don's (impulse), and Praesepe's accounts on shatters.net. Fridger's has be back for a week now and Rass, yours will be back soon. All the passwords have been reset. If you need access to your account again, PM me and I'll give you a temporary password so that you can login and change it to something else.

Many thanks Chris, the TextureFoundry works indeed from the onset right after the Hack. I never need passwords to access my account ;-) . Since a long time I have no idea what it actually was.

Bye Fridger

Hi Bob,

here is a screen shot. :-) (8K mercury VT)

(this thumbnail links to a much larger image, 150kb)

Chris, if you want you can send all my addons to "Motherlode". Now I can't do that because I still hang on a slow dial up. :-(

Bye Jens

Hi,
jim submitted a brand new mercury texture. You can find it here
As of 6:00pm Jan 2, central time, jim's files on shatters.net give me a 403. I can move them to the motherlode server directly if they are publicly available, using a script, but I need access to the directory. Let me know through pm or through email to celestia at ibiblio.org

Cheers,
Joe
