I would like to model my own spacecrafts for Celestia.
Does anyone know a good 3d-programm, which is compatible with Celestia and for free? It can be eather for Linux or Windows.
Is there anywhere a manual or website which explains how to create own things and integrate them into Celestia?

Anim8or (Windows only) and Blender (Linux, Windows and MacOS) are two popular free 3D modelling programs. There are others, too.
Celestia can use models that are in the 3DS format. Surface textures should be in JPEG or PNG format and their dimensions must be a power-of-two on a side.
