64-bit version of Celestia?

Post #1by Sky Pilot » 15.12.2004, 00:37

Are there any plans to create a 64-bit version of Celestia for the new Windows CPUs (e.g., Athlon)?

If you're running a Win64 prerelease, you should try building Celestia from the CVS archive on SourceForge. It should work: I've seen at least one report of Celestia running on an Alpha, the proprietary 64 bit computer architecture from DEC (now sold by HP).

Chris would have to comment on any plans he might have for extending Celestia's datatypes specifically for 64 bit architectures.
