AntialiasingSamples 4 in cfg file causes hangup

Hi.

A few days ago, I got an e-mail from a user at NASA who has tried out my educational activities. When he loaded the celestia.cfg file that I have included with the activities, Celestia 1.3.2 refused to open.

We have traced the problem to the line in the cfg file that I included at the suggestion of Chris to improve antialiasing. That line is:

AntialiasingSamples 4

On some computers with Nvidia cards, the line causes Celestia to partially load, then hang indefinitely. This happened to me at school on my Nvidia FX5200 card computers, and apparently, has also happened to this fellow at NASA. I didn't get what video card he is using, but ....

Commenting out the line resulted in everything working fine, although antialiasing was now not very good.

FYI

I had that problem with the 53.xx drivers for my Quadro FX Go1000 card.

Problem solved updating to the 61.xx drivers..

I now use AntialiasingSamples 4 with no problems.
