Celestia 1.4.0pre6

I've uploaded a new prerelease of Celestia 1.4.0 for Windows:

http://www.celestiaproject.net/~claurel/celest ... .0pre6.exe

The changes since 1.4.0pre5 are mostly just bug fixes:
- Added the SAO and HD cross indexes
- Implemented radius field for star definitions in .stc files
- Fixed the multiple star illumination bug reported by Selden/Evil Dr.
- Made phase lock and sync orbit work for star targets

Downloaded it.

Ran it.

Drooled a bit....

Looks lovely, Chris and co.

Everything looks right to me, but I'm no expert.

Now to post a bug report :D

Summary:
What is the problem? I am a French speaker but I have some difficulties to understand what you want to say in a lot of messages, Symasky62: neither in 'French' nor in 'English', alas... Please, do not worry to type a complete message, in French for example, not an abstract one as you wrote sometimes: some people here can help you, but you may do the first step!

Quite. Symaski62's "messages" often infuriate me, since he basically does the equivalent of writing one or two words, adding smileys judiciously, and waving his arm around. I really would rather not take wild guesses at what someone means when they post.

Symaski62 - s'il vois plait, pouvez-vous ecrire la prose en Francais ici a l'avenir?

(which is my probably horribly wrong way of saying "can you please write prose (ie long sentences, be explicit) in French here in future?")

Is it just me or does the pre06 run faster than current release version?

See Celestia 1.4.0pre6 for Mac OS X

p.s.
There's no need to post the same question in more than one place. Many people use the link view posts since last visit. Seeing the same message many times can be rather annoying. Please delete your duplicate posts.

Daniel,

Perhaps Chris might be more motivated to prepare another release if
he received a little gratitude for ALL of the work he's already put into
this spectacular program.

Sorry, but I just don't understand how anyone can even suggest that Chris
should hurry up and create another version for us. What the hell is wrong
with you?

No... I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said that. I'm afraid that I simply just don't
understand why you would even have said such a thing. The next release, or
pre-release will come whenever Chris gets the time (and possibly the
motivation) to do such a thing.

Thanks, Bob

Ouch. :P Anyway, here's my praise for Chris's hard work on an awesome, cross-platform, high-quality product that wins double-super brownie points for being free and open source. Celestia is a beautiful piece of craftsmanship. Keep up the good work Chris!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D

I was wondering about what was happening with the new prereleases of Celestia, I was thinking that pre6 might have been the final 1.4.0. prerelease.

Once again, great work Chris, few programs downloadable for free off the internet are as good as Celestia. :D

Obviously, Celestia is a great piece of work. But that said, it has been quite a while since a new prerelease was released (or at least it seems that way) - I'm rather curious as to what is currently going on too... will there be another prerelease or is the final version of 1.4.0 in the works?

But the Chris work is very good.I am only concerned because in this step,we will have Celestia 1.4.0 final version in 2 years(launching one pre version each 6 months) and I don??t know how many changes means a pre version,i.e,there were sereral changes, but still in the same pre6 version. So I don??t know what is the macgnitude of changes to "transform" a pre6 into a pre7 or final version.
Months ago, each pre version have many changes. No,I??m a bit confused
