Unable to view nebulae

i've downloaded nearly every galaxy and nebulae add-on file from http://www.celestiamotherlode.net/, and i've even used links such as

cel://Follow/Sol:Jupiter:Io/2003-06-27T ... 66119&lm=0

(from m16-v2.zip and m16-v3.zip extracted to the extras folder) to try and view the eagle nebula, but when the URL is loaded there's nothing there. i've had zero success trying to view any kind of nebula in Celestia. i've tried searching for nebulae with the "Select Object" menu option, but it doesn't seem to recognize any of the names. What else should i try?

First of all, make sure you enabled 'galaxies' from the Render menu - View Options (or simply press 'U' on your keyboard).

In your Addons directory, create a folder, name it Nebulae. Now download the relevant file from Motherlode, open it in your Nebulae folder. The required models, textures and medres subfolders will be automatically created.

To see the Eagle Nebula, in Celestia, click Enter, type in m16, Enter. Then press G
