No specular

I have a geforce2 mx 32mb
Up to date detonator drivers.
I see all those nice pictures with sun reflecting off water surfaces.. I'm not getting it. I don't see any options to turn it on or off anywhere either. I've tried the basic earth texture the earth4k-new and the 16k one.
A new copy of celestia won't work either so i didn't mess up the configuration.. I think.

any ideas?

You need to do a search of the site before posting a topic that has been rehashed many, many times before.
But OK I will give the how to.
Open Celestia. On the menu bar at the top go to the render menu.
Now with the render menu open go down to Use Pixel Shader and click on it. You should now have a check next to it. Now do the same thaing with Use Vertex Shader and do the same thing. Now navigate to earth and check out the reflections. If you are not still not seeing anything then close and reopen Celestia and go back to the menu and verify that Pixel Shaders and Vertex Shaders have check marks next to them. If they do go to earth again and take a look. If you still don't see any specular lighting effects then the next step is to open the solarsys.ssc file in your Celestia/Data folder. Open it with wordpad. Now scroll down to the entry for Earth and see if there is a line saying BumpMap. If you see this and it doesn't have a # sign in front of it then put a # sign in front of the word BumpMap and put a space between the # sign and the word BumpMap.
Save the file. Now relaunch Celestia. You should see specular lighting effects. If you still don't then there is another issue here that I nor anyone else could simply talk you through. You then may be using a texture that is just to big for the amount of memory on your card of you have another problem.
If these things don't help then do a subject search of the site and start reading all the postings on specular lighting effects. All the info you need is here you just need to take the time to look for it.
