New 64k DDS Earth texture
Only because the shaded map looked so much better than the flat one,and when I made my original surface texture I didnt know how to make a 43k bump/normal map from the Globe/Gtopo data.i know they clash a bit but it would be a lot of work to start again from scratch with the flat texture,I think Haralds texture is made from the flat map though.Cheers Jestr
level5 is split into 5 parts-you'd want parts4 and 5 ,and maybe 3 as well.Of course you'd still have to download all of levels0-4 first still.I'd rather not split these up as it will only make things more confusing for people to download, and VT's seem a bit complicated for some already. How about if you tried to download with a download accelerator-then you could download a little bit at a time and resume later? All the best Jestr
All I see is a white lit sphere for the Earth when I choose Alternate and then JMII DDS. Here's how my directory structure looks...

And here's what I see...

I tried placing all these into JMII DDS/extras/textures/hires and some other combinations with no luck either. The JMII DDS.ssc file is in the extras root.
Any help appreciated.

Well, in fact my question was about a little technical point; I explain:
Normally if you scale up a file you don?€™t have a better definition (obvious); but I think you can have a loss for the level5 if you do the following (seems you have done like this):
Input file: 43200x21000 > scaling up to 64k > then scaling down to 32k output file.
I think, better for level5 use the input 43x21 and scale it to 32k (before this a sharpen filter can be used to avoid any loss)
But this is really a detail, and also it depend on witch program you work?€¦
