Distance of the galaxies

Post #1by Paolo-82 » 09.09.2004, 16:22

Hello!

I hope you can help me. I'm sorry for my English.

I need to know the distance from Earth of the galaxies contained into the NGC catalog.
Where I can find these information?

I saw here
http://www.geocities.com/doctorshnub/ga ... usters.txt
an extension of galaxies for Celestia. Where did the author find the distance, axis and angle?

Thanks a lot.

Paolo

Paolo,

Please take a look at http://www.lepp.cornell.edu/~seb/celestia/catalogs.html#3.5.2

It lists the references used to get the information about the galaxies.
