About the spacecraft models . . .

Post #1by PowerVegetable » 04.03.2002, 18:35

Just in passing, do the spacecraft have accurate orbital data and accurate time appearances? It would be nice to have the apollo spacecraft in their proper position at the proper time (i.e. late 60's early 70's) After all, its a bit odd to thave the apollo and gemini capsules sharing orbit with mir, the iss and the space shuttles. . .

The time appearances of the spacecraft are not correct . . . Everything in Celestia lasts forever :> This will not be the case in future versions--I envision a time in the future where all the spacecraft appear in the right locations and right times, and if you want to see Apollo 11, you'll have to set the clock back to July 1969.

Bang on, thats what I wanted to hear. I have to tell you, I'm staggered by the amount of work that's gone into this first-rate project. It's amazing to me that you've brought this software to the point it's at. Congratulations on a stellar job.

I agree. It's a simulator, not a museum. So times should be correct, too.
We could place a nice spaceship near Jupiter.
Maybe around 2010?
