Klaus Gierloff's Voyager addon and those xyz files

On the Celestia Add-Ons website (http://bruckner.homelinux.net/addons.html), there is an updated model of Voyager with an ssc file to #1 & #2 at realistic positions. The ssc file calls on two '.xyz' files that seem to contain point-by-point trajectory/ position data for the two probes. Does Celestia 1.2.4 implement non-Keplerian positioning or is it a feature for a future release? I ask because if it *is* supposed to work in 1.2.4 it doesn't seem to be working for me.

Great model by the way!

They should work in 1.2.4 . . . They .xyz files should go into the data directory. Is that where they are now?

Future versions of Celestia will support more sophisticated ways of specifying orbital trajectories. The .xyz files are just a hack.

Hi Chris,
I cant seem to get these to work, I have the two .xyz in \data now,
the .ssc is in \extras, and I've tried the .3DS in both \extras and \data but no joy :(
The two are listed in the 'Satellites of Sol' panel and their names show up on the screen, but on (Goto) there is just a brief flash of a dot, or a pixel, but nothing more.
Any ideas?

Problem solved !
What a fool I am, I've only just discovered the \models, with all the .3ds in there, works fine, looks very nice.

What is the emoticon for a shame-face ? and sack-cloth :(

ahhh... the data directory. That make more sense. I had them in with 'extras'. Now it seems to work fine, putting the V-gers into approximate encounters with the appropriate planets. Does the 'they're just a hack' comment imply that there's more systematic, accurate non-keplerian flyby/positioning to look forward to in a future version? If so, that's extremely cool. Thanks for the help!
