nice perforated Jupiter

This beautiful image
http://www.xs4all.nl/~vitke/eclipse.jpg
is supposed to be a moon eclipse on Jupiter.

I'm running the KDE version of 1.3.0 under Gentoo Linux with 2.6.7 kernel, 4.3.0.1 X, Radeon 7000 with X native drivers, VIA KT 333 chipset, Athlon XP 1600+. I have a bunch of problems with DRI, which is slower than it was with 2.4 kernels, and KDE menus are flickering when Celestia is opened. I guess that very few people actually ever manage to run kernel 2.6 + Radeon 7000 at all, so the chances that anybody knows a solution to this DRI problems are miserable... Anyway, this dotted Jupiter might be due to a bug in Celestia, and not DRI.
