.DLL error on startup

Post #1by pyritechips » 26.05.2004, 19:05

This is my first post here so please forgive any posting improprieties.

System: Duron 1.1 Ghz, 768 MB RAM, ATI 9200se 128 MB AGP video card, W2K + SP4. Running Celestia v1.3.1

I found this wonderful program some time ago but it didn't run properly on my old video card, which was only 8 MB. I got the new card mentioned above and the program ran error free until this morning.

I just updated my system at Windows Update site (critical security patch). After rebooting and trying to run Celestia I get the following error:

celestia.exe - Entry Point Not Found

The procedure entry point GetRawInputDeviceList could not be located in the dynamic link library User32.dll

After clicking "Ok" the program launches and seems to operate properly.

Question: how may I eliminate this error message?

It seems I have solved this one myself.

Solution: reinstall DirectX 9.

Howdy Jim,

Glad you were able to get it going again! :D

Thanks for the welcome Don!

I have another question concerning proper installation of .DDS add-on files. Should I start a new thread? :?:

One way of looking at it is that DDS is just another kind of image file format, similar to jpeg and png.

Please take a look at http://www.lns.cornell.edu/~seb/celestia/addon-intro.html to see if that helps.
