The 3-Dimensional Constellation

Hey guys,
I just had a great idea  ! You know how we can't really tell which stars are in which constellations up close? Well, what if we include constellation names in the descriptions?

We could also have a color co-ordinate function for stars; when the function is turned on, a circular disk of color around the star (kind of like the selected icon we have now, only as we get closer is remains the same size around the star) that we can see up close, appears.

I think this is a really cool idea, and it shouldn't take all that much work to do. Alas, I don't know how. Oh well....

Nor am I a programmer; *sigh. I guess I'll have to leave it to those less challenged then I am in that area.

Edit starnames.dat, and add the Bayer numbers for the dimmer stars in each constellation.

Wow, look, 357 Kentauri, guess it's in Centaurus.

No coding needed. :)

Cool, thanks. I'll try that when I get the chance.

aren't the star names already shown with the shorter one like alpha ORI so you know it's in the constellation orion? You only have to learn the abbreviations.
