Guide 1.3.2 is published, so 1.3.1 is being retired. See Celestia doc page.

LarsS,

Every posting to the Celestia Forum includes a link to the poster's Web site if one has been included in the poster's profile. It's a small button labelled (WWW) just below the post.

Frank has included the address of his Web site in his profile.
The (WWW) button just below his message links to that site.
The link to the current version of the Celestia Users Guide is at the bottom of his Web page.

Does this help?

Hi Frank

Is a 1.2.5 users guide available by any chance?

Dear Wizard:

No, a specific guide for 1.2.5 is not available. However, some of the features in 1.3.1 are also in 1.2.5 so you can pick and choose. I urge you to download 1.3.1, however. It has so many new things that makes 1.2.5 quite dated.

Frank,

Unfortunately, he needs to run 1.2.5 because 1.3.0 and 1.3.1 have broken an old "Track" feature (return to previous orientation when Track is turned off).

To whom it concerns:

The german version is available on the Celestia website at section "documentation".

And in German:
Das deutsche Handbuch ist auf der Celestia-Website in der Rubrik "Documentation" erh?ltlich.

Italian translation of the UsersGuide?

Post #15by ALX Simone » 30.03.2004, 19:16

Hello, Frank!

I'd like to thank you for your work on the UsersGuide!
I've been using Celestia for some time now, and I'd be honored to contribute to this project in some way! Any need/plans for an Italian translation of your Guide?

I've some experience at this, I've translated docs for other open source projects; for example: http://www.mame.net/mamefaqitalian.html

Regards, Alex

Are there any plans to provide the HTML version for download?

fsgregs wrote:A revised version of the Celestia User's Guide for version 1.3.1 has been completed and is available on my website link below. It has been rearranged with new additions, links, charts and organization.

Please feel free to download it from my site, until the "formal" edition comes out and is posted by Chris on the main page of the Celestia website.

Many thanks to Don Goyette for his valuable comments and to others on the forum who found some errors in need of correction.

Enjoy.

Dear Davidmcw:

An older HTML version of the Users Guide is available at http://teyssier.nerim.net/celestia/doc/

It was done by one of the forum members about 6 months ago and represents Celestia version 1.3.0, however, most of the instructions in it still apply to version 1.3.1. There will be some missing features, however, that Celestia version 1.3.1 has, which are not mentioned in the HTML file. To read them, you have to download the MS Word document. Remember, however, that you can always get a free MS Word "reader" from the Microsoft website, if you do not have MS Word. To get the reader, click this link http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=9BBB9E60-E4F3-436D-A5A7-DA0E5431E5C1&displaylang=en

Dear Daniel:

Thanks to your report, I also found a 2nd problem with Activity 3.2. The first cel:url, which is imbedded in the image of the solar system seen in figure 4, links to a file (a script cel file) that was inadvertently omitted from any of the 3 zip files. Thus, when you click on that first image in figure 4, nothing happens. All the other links in the Activity should be working fine.

I have now included the missing file in zip file "A" of Activity 3.2. It is called "Activity 3-2.cel". You will need to re-download zip file "A" from my website to get it. Simply unzip and drag all the files in zip file A into the main Celestia folder over again.

Please do not try to download zip file A again until Wednesday. The guy who keeps my website is out of town and will not be able to update that file until April 28 or 29. Thanks for finding the error.

:) Frank

Where's the link? And does it tell how to get pictures of extrasolar planets like they have for Orion's Arm?
