Big glaring error staring everyone in the face....

.... yet no-one seems interested ! Maybe by posting it as a new topic, I will get an answer !
As I've said several times, along with several other people, the light from nearby stars does not, in reality, make far-away stars more visible, as it does in Celestia. Celestia's realism would be severely improved if this could be corrected ! Or is it too difficult for some obscure programming reason ?

Big glaring error staring everyone in the face....

This was discussed in some detail in an earlier topic In Celestia the galaxiy are more visible at daylight????
Chris wrote:The OpenGL extension EXT_blend_minmax enables max(a, b) and min(a, b) blending. It's not available on all cards, but I know that nVidia chipsets from the TNT on up support it. So does the Matrox G400. I'm experimenting with it in Celestia and it will probably appear in 1.2.5.

This is the solution to your problem. So, have patience...
