Like I said, I'll take another look at it here shortly, and see if the timing can be set at a different rate for you slow reading types. :lol:

Hell, maybe I can set two versions out there. One for real slow viewing, and one for quick viewing. Shouldn't be that hard to do.

I ran the script until the crater Xamba in Rhea.Then,the screen went blank and I had to restart my computer.I scan with a antivirus and doesn?t appear to have corrupt files or virus.Any idea?

Daniel,

Wouldn't have anything to do with your screen-saver kicking in would it?

That'd be about the only thing I could think of at this point. They are *no* viruses attached to it I can assure you.

Try disabling the screen-saver and see if it makes a difference. Does on my, poor limited machine. If the screen-saver goes off, I have to keep punching the screen until it comes back. :wink:

It should have been the screen saver,really.In a second time,it works perfectly.One quastion is :
Is there anything we know about Iapetus?It is not in the script.

Daniel,

I just didn't include Iapetus because the script was running long. Iapetus features some craters, but I just didn't see any real point in including it. There *are* over thirty moons around Saturn you know? :wink:

......how about placing some hashed out 'optional extras' into your script for all the remaining moons ? Then the user can choose any, or all of the moons if they want to view them. :twisted:

I have given thought to doing something along those lines, but where do I quit? Do you care that one moon is a featureless blob, and that the other has (at least to me) some interesting features?

I know... I know... You just ain't gonna be happy till every moon, planet, asteroid, comet and dirtball within 400 parsecs has been mapped and investigated are you? :roll:

I'll see what I can do, but it's gonna take a while. Right now, I'm in the middle of writing the "Virtual Textures For Dummies" document as Selden described it. I'm evaluating some simulation software which I got from a close friend in Italy, I'm trying to find a job and I'm trying to keep up with you guys. Sheesh! :?

Oh ... hey, I just remembered ... we have a resident perl expert ... Mr. Schrempp! I'll bet HE could whip out this Celestia script, via a perl script, in no time at all! 8O ... Pulling all kinds of detailed information from web sites all around the world, making it the best, most complete, 2 million star tour available on Earth! How about it Fridger? :wink:
