Mstar dark

I have the texture "Mstar dark",but I don?t know where I use it.There is no night side for a star.Could this texture be related to a carbon star?

I know that Fridger used the mstar-dark texture for the red giant sun in the dying earth addon.

The dying Earth add-on that I developed as part of the Life and Death of Stars, uses the M-star dark texture. It has also been used to simulate a brown dwarf.
