Well, Celestia only allows me to select
Window Mode => up to 1024*768 @ 16bit
or
FullScreen Mode => up to 800*600 @ 32bit
funny isn't it... ? what a deal...

Celestia 1.3pre11 on Asus P4T533 @ 533Mhz - 512Mb of 32bit RIMM @ 1066Mhz - ATI 9800 PRO (128) - WinXP Pro - & a poor 1024*768 60hz screen.

I believe someone had mentioned a bug which resulted in the highest resolution to be removed. Did you try 1.3.1 final? Maybe it has been fixed.
