The naked Earth

Hi all :) ,

Here's another nice surface for the earth. It's showing the seafloor, the seafloor structures, the deep sea trenches and the continental shelf areas.

http://www.nefkom.net/z-bau/celestia/

There will be a location file too, soon.

Have fun :D ,

Hello Maxim

Is there any chance you could show us a screenshot, preferably of the 8k DDS version ?

regards

Not from the terminal where I am at this moment. Let's see..., perhaps tomorrow. :)
The versions are all derived from the same source and look the same, exept from the higher or lower resolution. If your bandwidth is not too low, and you don't want to wait, just get the smallest file and take a look.

greets, maxim.

Ok, here they are:

1. The hotspot trajectory with hawaii at it's front.
2. A closeup onto hawaii
3. The carribean sea with the deep sea trench at the right side.

I downloaded the political map texture you did. I had posted a request about this very idea several months ago, and now here it is! Thanks!

Hey!
There's already a seafloor texture on the web (called 'earth-bathymetry').
Why doesn't anybody tell me.

Ok, here's some more 'naked' stuff for you

This shows the earth's continental areas at a sealevel dropped by 110m.
Perhaps this is one of the sources for Don Edwards Ice Age Earth - it's just showing things a little more from the technical point of view.
The original is derived from a NGDC website of NOAA.

Here are some views:

You can download it from my page in 4k or 8k resolution.

have fun :D ,
