Cereb,
I believe bumpmapping is enabled in Celestia.
Try this, open up your solarsys.ssc or other specific file and look for the bumpmap string related to the planet or moon in question. Make sure the texture name is properly listed and that there is no comment tag (#) before the word "bumpmap". If there is a # before the word bumpmap, remove the # and your bumpmap should render. Don't forget to save the change!

Don't forget that bumpmaps are broken in v1.3.0. It was one of the first things fixed in the prereleases for the next version. v1.3.1pre11 is available at [urll]http://www.celestiaproject.net/celestia/files/[/url]

And don't forget also that you need an ATI, or NVIDIA GeForce 2 or higher graphics card to see bumpmapping!

It's probably a windows thing... I don't see why shatters.net in particular would cause problems...? Does it happen when you go into other php pages? (other sites like)

Nah, I think I found the problem, besides learning how a cordless keyboard and mouse work. I finally got around to reading the accompanying user's manual. My receiver is now the suggested 20cm away from my CPU and monitor. Like the scarecrow sang, "if I only had a brain..."

My Dear Tech Sgt. Chen,

Since you have demonstrated the ability to think and reason, by opening the user's manual and reading it ... I hereby present you with a Certificate of Achievement that proves beyond a shadow of a doubt, you do have a brain. :!:
