Well I click the question mark with Earth cities.Should this be ftp?
Re: setting up files
I did exactly like you said.Look to my redmars.ssc(download from Mars folder)
AltSurface "RedMarsVT" "Sol/Mars"
{Texture "RedMars.ctx"
#BumpMap "Redmars-Normal-8k.dds"
#BumpHeight 2.5
#Color [1 0.75 0.7 ]
#SpecularColor [ 0.5 0.5 0.55 ]
#SpecularPower 25.0
HazeColor [ 1 1 1 ]
HazeDensity 0.45
Radius 3394
Oblateness 0.006
}
And the alternate texture VT is still a bland one.
I put mars.ctx and red mars.ctx in Sol Mars folder.
Then,I proceed like this :
Extras>Addons>Sol Mars>Textures>med res>Level 0,1,2,3
Could the problem that I had to copy the files and not the folders?

Daniel,I dont bother using 'Alternate texture' for my virtual textures. All I change is the 'Texture' line in 'solarsys.ssc' to read 'Texture "RedMars.ctx"'and then put both the 'RedMars' folder containing all the different levels, and the 'RedMars.ctx' text file in the usual 'hires' folder-just a suggestion.Good luck Jestr

Hello,
That's what I did. It loads really fast. Try it. It's all in levels - not one big picture.
