When you are in the mars page, press the refresh button, it also happened to me once in his page and that solved the problem

Phobos and Deimos colour texture
It?s not true,Jens. There is some colour photos from Phobos and Deimos by JPL and Viking Orbiter. For exemple, see in nineplanets.com.Or it was false colour images?
jim wrote:Hi Jack,JackHiggins wrote:Where did you get the colour data from?
There is no real colour data so it's all fictional.
Now I think/hope we get better data in the next years.

Re: Phobos and Deimos colour texture
We don?t need to wait until 2004.Look to this link http://cmex-www.arc.nasa.gov/CMEX/data/ ... os.html.It?s a color photo of Phobos by Mars Global Surveyour(MOC camera). But is it a true color image?

Re: Phobos and Deimos colour texture
It's another ghastly colourized image, like those truly horrible pink pictures of Phobos and Deimos prepared from Viking images. The original MGS image is black and white: http://mars.jpl.nasa.gov/mgs/msss/camera/images/9_11_98_phobos_rel/.Mars moons real colors wrote:It?s a color photo of Phobos by Mars Global Surveyour(MOC camera). But is it a true color image?
There is a colour image of Phobos, but I'm afraid it shows that the body is plain old dark grey in colour: http://www.msss.com/mars_images/moc/2003/06/23/

Re: Phobos and Deimos colour texture
I prefer the real thing. If Phobos is dark grey,so Phobos have to be dark grey in Celestia.Actually,if you can do a total color fictional for Phobos and Deimos, why don?t do the same for Saturn, that is much more beautiful in false color

Why don't we just call the Phobos and Deimos colormap images "Real-Interpretive?"
Thanks very much Jim... These images are beautiful and much fun to watch in Celestia.
By the way, I had to resize the images using IrfanView, and then save them via that program before they'd display correctly on my machine. Can you think of any reason that THAT might be the case?
It wasn't the size that caused the problem. I just had to re-save the images before they'd display correctly. Are you using some graphics program that does something weird to jpegs?
Just curious.
Thanks, Bob

Hi Bob,
Sorry, I don't know what your problem is/was. On my system work this "Photoshop" JPG's without any problem.
