Automatic update - possible?

Post #1by ajtribick » 28.09.2003, 21:07

Would it be possible to automatically check the data files on window activation for changes, so that if I am developing a star system I would not have to keep closing and reopening Celestia to see what effect the changes I make have had?

At the moment I am trying to sort out orbits and if I could adjust the file and just activate the Celestia window, instead of repeatedly having to set up the viewpoint (I know I could use the start script but it is annoying).

Reloading data files at runtime is near the top of the list of features to add to Celestia. Planets and deep sky objects a relatively straightforward; adding new stars will require rebuilding a spatial sorting structure--not hard, but potentially time consuming.
