Hello everybody,
I'm running Celestia for a few days now. Great program!
Though there's one problem. I installed a bigger moon-texture but the moon is rendered completely white. So I wonder if I did something wrong. Or is it just my graphic-card.
I use an Erazor III (nVidia TNT 2) and I thought that chip could handle DDS textures. Maybe someone can shed a little light.

Can't use *.DDS?

If you haven't done yet, you must change the file solarsys.ssc using a text only editor (like Notepad) and writing in the appropriate line the exact name of your Moon texture . Remember then to save as "all files" with the same name solarsys.ssc .
If possible you should check also that the image size is a power of two, and one side double dimension than the other, i.e. 1024x512, or 2048x1024, or 4096x2048, and so on .
Good luck!
Andrea

Don't feel too bad, Soilworker, I have a 128mb Radeon 9000 pro in my system, and I'll have to replace it to get the best out of Celestia (I want ring-shadows, for a start).
New Geforce cards can be quite inexpensive these days.
Best of luck with the problem, anyways
