Hallo!
Excuse me: I hope I am not somehow double posting... I think the first message got lost after I accepted the preview....
I am new. Tomatoes may proceed to be thrown (Forum initiation).
First, thank you all for your work with Celestia! It is the best PC Planetarium software (and GPL'd !!). I have always thought of something like Celestia as being the best solution to astronomy software... even customizable with carefuly rendered 3ds representations of moons, etc. Impressed... very impressed. I feel a little like Carl Sagan in that ship he used to 'fly' in Cosmos (remember that?? - apologies to those that just said 'yuck!!').
I was hoping that I could get some new-user answers:
1. The status/info text in the corners of my Celestia display are always black, rendering them unreadable 99% of the time. Can this be changed? My graphics card is ATI RAGE MOBILITY-M1 AGP with the following OPenGL info:
Vendor: ATI
Renderer: RagePRO
Version: 1.1.3
Max simultaneous textures: 1
Max texture size: 1024
Supported Extensions:
GL_ATI_lock_texture
GL_EXT_abgr
GL_EXT_bgra
GL_EXT_clip_volume_hint
GL_EXT_compiled_vertex_array
GL_EXT_packed_pixels
GL_EXT_texture_object
GL_EXT_vertex_array
GL_WIN_swap_hint
2. Is it possible to display 'virtual' Celestia objects (i.e. orbital elipse)
3. Is it possible to generate new satelites from NASA satelite element data?
Regards and thank you!
Ben
