Lunokhod 1 model- also ASTP news

Post #1by JackHiggins » 23.07.2003, 18:55

It's been a while :D , but i've made another new model!

It's Lunokhod 1, which was the first unmanned lunar rover, and was deployed from Luna 17. This model is 100% converted from the Lunokhod 1 VRML at the russian virtual space museum http://vsm.host.ru/e_vrml.htm (only the colours are different) because I wanted to get it done quickly.

If you download this you'll need to update your lunarlandingsites.ssc file, so you you can download the updated version from my site, or you can just replace the existing Mesh model for Lunokhod 1 with lunokhod1.3ds

Download the model from the Spacecraft page on my site http://homepage.eircom.net/~jackcelestia/

but here are a few screenshots first (note the nice antialiasing too!)

Enjoy!

ASTP model news
A while back I announced my Apollo-Soyuz test project model. Well, the docking module wasslightly incorrect, and bh sent me a slight update for it. I've added this update on to the existing model, and you can download the updated version from my site now too. (Thanks bh- sorry about the delay!)

Jack...your efforts with the ex Soviet era are to be applauded! Great stuff.

How's MIR coming along. I have a model of Mir with the shuttle (Atlantis - I think). But I need more detailed pics of this encounter.

Also an ssc.

Best regards...bh.

The login thingy has something against you bh....

Mir's looking ok (things tend to when you haven't touched them for 4 weeks) but I need to get the colours right & fix up the solar panels...

Theres a kickass interactive flash model of mir at russianspaceweb.com too, except you can't rotate it around... It gives a good impression of the layout though!
