Addons and version info

I've recently downloaded celestia and it has rekindled my love of astronomy:). It is very rich and detailed but I was hoping to get even more stuff so I downloaded some addons. Thenumbered and minor moons packs worked beautifully, but the galaxies thing I downloaded from the place in the expansion tutorial did not work presumably because I have version 1.3 and it requires 1.2. So should I download 1.2 and use that? Is there noticeable graphical loss when I do that? Anyone have any comments or suggestions?

It seems to do that for a lot of people :)

What expansion tutorial do you mean? Where did you get it? It needs to be expunged from the universe! ;)

I'd suggest not. Why not get the version of the galaxy catalogs intended for 1.3?

That depends on the graphics card you have. However, there would be a major loss in functionality.

You might consider taking a look at http://www.lns.cornell.edu/~seb/celestia/catalogs.html. After downloading the catalogs you want from there, try following some of the links...

It turns out I just had to put Galaxy in front of all the object names and with a little script, I did and now it works:).
