1.2.4

Post #1by Mad Boris » 03.05.2002, 11:54

I hate to point out bugs so soon after its release, but there is a minor bug in 1.2.4 that wasn't in 1.2.3. When selecting an object, it is now necessary to "go to" it before it is possible to zoom in on that object or rotate it. If the goto command is not used, it behaves as though the previous object was still selected. Also, I can't seem to see any eclipses on Saturn - could someone please tell me a date on which one is visible ?

I'd also like to say that I was very pleased with the orbits of moons around planets. I look forward to discovering what other surprises are in store....

It's not a bug, it's a feature... :) Part of the phase-lock thing. Basically, you can select something (eg, Jupiter) while right-click orbiting something else (eg, Io). To see what you're right-click orbiting, look in the corner, it should say something like "Follow Io." To orbit something without goto, select it and press "f". It can be annoying, but it does allow for some nice effects.
