intelligent life

The probability of intelligent life elsewhere can be interpreted as very high, due to the collossal number of places where it could start, or alternatively, very low, due to the many coinciding circumstances and events required. Intelligence in our case seems to have been a successful evolutionary development; intelligence isn't necessarily equated with survival; a species of long necked dinosaur actually evolved into a smaller brained version. The blood pressure required for a big brain and a longer neck meant that the head would just about blow off, a longer neck was more of an advantage than more thinking. Given the (intelligent) way we live in our world, we'll be lucky to last as long as the dinosaurs.I wonder if the answers might lie within our consciousness itself, rather than "out there", maybe an interface with the meta universe lies inside our heads. If all this universe came from a big bang that originated from a point source or singularity smaller than an atom, then there may well be enough energy for an entire universe to exist for the benefit of one life-bearing planet.I just hope that if we do encounter other people that they dont want to eat us....

I'd say farther than 15,000 light years since that is a considerable amount yet still not terribly far like 50,000 ly

There is no Perfection without complexity.

Pah! Rubbish. Simplicity is key to Perfection...

1. the universe is still expanding it would take the borg over 10,000 to assimilate 6 more Galaxies (in Voyager The Vaadwuar state that over 900 years before 2376 the borg has only assimilated several systems several would be aroun 10 so if then they had 11 systems in their control in 1476
in 2376 they control approximatly 38% of the Milky way Galaxy so it would take them a few thousand years to assimilate around 6 galaxies

2. When the Borg Achive perfection they will either:
a.Self Destruct

b.Wait till they're parts cease to function

c. de-activate themselves

d. become confused and begin wiping out eacher to achive higher perfection
because most borg ships are slighly different they may have different types of drones, weapons, technology, even though all information is transmitted through the Collective.

If the Borg wish to respond to this message they shall adress the author as The Romulan Star Empire or Future Ally/Drone

The Borg’s logic is flawed. They want to archive perfection, yet there are many types of perfection, and some are in direct contradiction to each other. The way the Borg’s try to assimilate races leads me to believe they are most interested intellectual perfection. But here is the catch if you all of one mind then you all think the same. i.e think inside the box. If you were individual then your interaction with other individuals would allow you free to think outside the box. This was actually brought to the front in one of the voyager episodes where it came out that the Borg’s biggest problem is the lack of variety. And hence got there buts kicked by a more advanced race that they could not understand.

In the end perfection is unachievable for them.

But to make you happy the answer should be D

Here's what The Guide has to say about the population of the universe.

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy wrote:Population: None.
It is known that there are an infinite number of worlds, simply because there is an infinite amount of space for them to be in. However, not every one of them is inhabited. Therefore, there must be a finite number of inhabited worlds. Any finite number divided by infinity is as near to nothing as makes no odds, so the average population of all the planets in the Universe can be said to be zero. From this it follows that the population of the whole Universe is also zero, and that any people you may meet from time to time are merely the products of a deranged imagination.

And that about sums it up for that.

strange messages into the minds of humanity...
:?

Most of you will NOT like what I have to say, but I've got to say it.

"Intelligent" life other than commonly observable, physical forms has always been a part of earth's history so the distance to "intelligent" life is a close as your ... Classical demonology (1) is widely dismissed in academic circles as an explanation for UFOs because of the accountability required of a sovereign God who created them as well as humanity with a free will. Contact of "intelligent" life has already been made, and only God knows the true depth of deception and corruption that such contact has spawned. The movie, "Deceived", from Cloud Ten Pictures deals with some of these issues. Humanity does have a clue of this deception and corruption through the philosophies, communication, and inventions of "inspired" men. Do you really want to live in the looming, brave new world where everything is controlled, manipulated, and monitored including yourself? If you do, welcome to the island of Dr. Moreau where the horror of "inspired" humanity never ends.

T.P.

(1) A fascinating conference in Roswell, NM will occur over the 4th of July of this year. Unfortunately, I can't attend, but this conference should be riveting to say the least. The conference, http://www.ancientofdays.net , deals with the UFO phenomenon from a biblical perspective.

We shall prevail...

An individual from ship designated as "U.S.S Voyager NCC-74656" said one:
"The Borg, What they can't assimilate, they can't understand."
We beat the Species 8472 by making an alliance with the Federation. What we needed is the mind of it's own to assist us in creating and mofiying the NanoProbes to make them more resiliant to the Species 8472's Immune System. We succeded with assistance of EMH - Emergency Medical Hologram.

Following the break of alliance, we initiated a new project and "ADD-ON" Module for Collective. It allows Queen to give (temporal) personality to certain drones, their original personality but modified to suit and serve Borg needs. Those drones, prior to assimilation, where a scientists whose expertise gave and is still giving the Collective a neccesary resources for improvement of assimilation and regeneration processes as well as other technology.
The Module is Designated as "PEM" - "Personality EMulator".
It is also used on these forums when we, the Borg, require a different point of view.

To the individual designated as "-Shadow-":
In your measuring you have not taken an exponential growth of Collective.
The Collective is thousands of years old...
This Galaxy contains a large number of Galactic Clusters that are not fused with the Galaxy but outside it. SPECIES 259 location was Galactic Cluster 3, they where assimilated, contibuting largely to Collective.
Assimilation of new Cultures and Systems increases exponentialy by every new Civilisation assimilated into Collective. The Collective must grow. If it took us 900 years to assimilate 38% of main Galaxy then Galaxy whole would be assimilated in less than 900 years, rather than 1800. And with each Galaxy assimilated the number of Earth years required to assimilate a new one is reducing...

The Universe is vast... and with each new Black Hole formed, a new paralell Universe is created, with or without the Borg, ready to be assimilated... There are other forms of Universes, not only 4-Dimensional one you are living in, Fluidic Space, a Homeworld of Species 4872, exists as well...

The Black Hole warps the Space and Time Continuum. Once the Black Hole is formed, it creates an exact duplicate of this space, which further evoluates unlinked to this Universe, without any corelation of these two except fot the Black Hole.

The word "parallel" comes from geometry. Two vectors with the same
coordinates are considered parallel. Similarly, two vectors with the
same length and direction but different placements on the coordinate
plane are considered to be the same vector, and can be moved around
arbitrarily while retaining that status. Thus, being parallel does not
force two things to be exclusive.

I know what is parallel, I'm studing that topi and other topics.
the point is: how can we know that that is true, that "Once the Black Hole is formed, it creates an exact duplicate of this space"???
you didnt answer my previous question...

If the borg enter the Space of The Kothsiilane they should request an Alliance first if they Don't want to Be Destroyed.A Kothsiilane scout Can take on 128 Class 4 Tactical Cubes single handedly and still win easily
if the Borg even Have that many Class 4 Tactical Cubes. The Space of The Kothsiilane is Vast, We control atleast 850 Galaxies and Transwarp velocities are obselete Technology to us, There is no possible way to Assimilate us, If you want perfection you will need Alliance there are Races out here with technology almost equal to ours.

We do not make alliances. We assimilate.

Your statement is incorrect. Our two species have never encountered each other. The species you refer to probably not exist. Your current location is Planet Romulus of the Romulan Empire. The Romulans do not stand anyone's presence except their own species. The ship to which you reffered was probably Shadow Class Ship of the Romulan Empire, a ship that posses a large quantity of Special Weapons but even all those combined do not posses a threat to single Borg Cube, Class 1 Cube.

The Shadow_class vessel is more of a Frigate then A Scout.
The Kothsiilane have obtained all knowledge on the inhabitants of the Milky way galaxy. I am serving as a spy for The Kothsiilane we have obtained all the information we needed from the Romulans We were curious about them becasue of our similarities. My statement is correct we have never encountered each other , but my statement is a warning.
Once you assimilate everything except us you will understand assimilation
does not gain perfection it only gets you close. If the collective wishes to continue this disscussusion it shall be carried out the the private message system.

You Species sufficates it's self in it's own imperfection. We consider this primitive language, grammar and communication irrelevant but are forced to use it to communicate with other species.

Your statement is composed of false and invalid information.

There is nothing invalid in my statement.
Even though i enjoy this it is getting more boring each post.
Oh just assimilate me and get it overwith you'll become so advanced you'll be able to assimilate the Federation in several minuites.
