A Celestia spaceship add-on

Hi Folks:

As we all know, Celestia has a spaceship that your spaceship keystroke commands control. However, we've never had a spaceship to go along with the spaceship commands. Now, Jack Higgins and I came up with the first design of a proud ship to represent Celestia. The model is based on the "Orion" space plane from the movie, 2001 a Space Odyssey, and looks a bit like the space shuttle.

Since Celestia can travel at hyperwarp speeds through its universe, we have plans to add what look like warp drive engines, but the model is very sleek now so we don't want to mess it up.

Here is what it looks like:

We also have a second ship identical to this one but with different markings, named the Celestia 2 (natch!).

You can download them from my website at http://www.fsgregs.org/celestia

BY simply creating a cel:url from a viewpoint outside of the ship, or using the Locations menu at the top of the screen, you can see yourself flying through space.

Enjoy

I think this is a really neat idea. Maybe we can come up with some more spaceships to use too :)

One thing that would be neat would be Carl Sagan's 'spacecraft of the mind' which he used in the Cosmos TV series. Essentially it was really just a brilliant blue ball of light radiating lots of long spikes, but it might be possible to make a model of it? (of course, I can't find a picture of the darn thing now...! If you've seen the series, you'll know what I mean...)

But is just to star right? then when you travel to somewhere else you won't see the ship
