Post #1by John Van Vliet » 05.10.2021, 00:18

Working on a BepiColombo mesh from the ESA web site
finally got the textures to render in the UV mapped *.obj file

Now on to breaking it apart into 3 obj files and converting them into *.cmod 's

Why is there an output.txt file in data folder?

Update to John van Vliet's BepiColombo add-on. New XYZV trajectories that cover its revised/extended interplanetary cruise to Mercury and orbital insertion! Separation of all of its components (MTM, MPO and Mio) aren't yet simulated, but will be included in a future update eventually.

Full (revised) interplanetary cruise to Mercury, 2018-2026

First orbits around Mercury, 2026-2027

NOTES:
- Before the mission's cruise phase got unexpectedly extended for a year, the separation events were originally included (see Discord messages here). Unfortunately, the timing had to be reworked again as the orbital phase will happen 11 months later than originally planned.
- SpaceExplorer also noted on Discord that the available HORIZONS data for this mission is primarily focused to MPO (the European portion of the mission). Actual planned data for Mio and the MTM are not publicly available
