It's interesting and I didn't know this wikibooks page.
But it's a shame to develop addons for 1.70 when it hasn't been officially released yet. Besides, is there a stable version without bugs and where?
Thank you for the info

So far the most stable release of Celestia 1.7.0 is its Android/iOS version found in the Google Play Store, which was maintained by Markerz since 2020.

I am forced to rely on parsecs for determining its distance so that I don't have to necessarily convert the values written on the SpaceEngine version it was adapted (as depicted by its description on the OP), and 1.7.0 had a far larger stellar distance limit than 1.6.3 does

DaveBowman2001 ....

thank you for these explanations but it seems to me that these are mobile versions.
Distances in parsecs are easily converted to ly. Can we imagine 'bringing' the Star Wars universe closer to the solar system to make it compatible with 1.6.1 or 1.6.4, and what needs to be changed? RA, DEC, Distance, ...?

I almost forgot, there's also a variant of mobile 1.7.0 that is available on the Microsoft Xbox Store

Of course, we could bring the Galaxy closer than 10 million ly to make it compatible for 1.6.4 below. Although yes converting pc to ly is simple enough (1 pc = 3.26 ly), it is currently impractical as I haven't yet completed the catalog's adaptation to Celestia

There is only distance of the Galaxy to modified ?
if yes, it's simple.

Not only the Galaxy, but all the stars bound to it must be modified manually. Also since it will be 900x nearer to Earth for the potential 1.6.x version, the coordinates of the stars will have to be adjusted as well, else they would be concentrated all on their Galactic Core

Ok, this is not also simple.
Thanks for precision.
