Pre-2009 Microlensers' Source Stars

Post #146by Trolligi 112477 » 15.08.2022, 11:02

This isn't exactly an exoplanet addon but it's kinda related. Basically here are some addons for the source stars (which the lens stars magnify when they pass in front of them) in 3 microlensing events (couldn't find enough info on the sources of the other 5 in the addon) from Gurren's Microlensers addon. They are all red clump yellow/orange giants about 10 times the size of the Sun, and yes they use the same texture. (cry about it)

A Neptune and its Super-Earth moon
Untitled.jpg
Kepler-809 b and its (unconfirmed) superterran moon

Kepler-809 is a Sun-like star about 3,224 light-years away in the constellation Cygnus. It has a Neptune-sized planet, where in 2020 is speculated to be one of the few known exoplanets to potentially harbor a moon, which is about 2.9 times more massive than Earth

LunarLambert Update for Kepler-12, 14 and 17
Wow, much realism, very pretty

I realised that almost none of my Sisyphus addons have LunarLambert, a crucial feature for making planets in Celestia look nice. I have updated them with the addition of this feature.

NGTS-12b will not be getting a LunarLambert update, as it will instead be getting a complete overhaul (again...), as I am currently working on texturing every NGTS system.

47 UMa has also been completely overhauled, and so it does not have a LunarLambert update available for download in this post.

I wasn't very satisfied with my old 47 UMa addon, and it didn't have LunarLambert. So, I remade it! And oh my, look at those clouds!

KMT-2020-BLG-0414L
A barren super-Earth and a Y-type brown dwarf orbiting a dead white dwarf star

Credits to cubicApoc for some of the source textures used in the texture of the planet in this addon
also I assumed a WD cooling age of 3 Gyr for the white dwarf, on top of a non-WD age of 5 Gyr, totalling 8 Gyr for the whole system (used this age to calculate the brown dwarf's parameters)
