OSIRIS-REx is working normally in Celestia, but Bennu is not. I opened Bennu's ssc, removed the "visible false", and the model doesn't show up in Celestia. The asteroid's name appears, but no sign of the model. I also changed the temporal rates in Celestia, I went back to the year 2019 and no sign. Was it a mistake I made?

I have the Bennu addon patterned its file structure to Celestia Origin's where the extras, models and textures folders should be placed directly onto the main Celestia folder.

If you placed it in their proper places but Bennu still doesn't appear, try deleting the Replace function that is written beside Bennu's name in the SSC file

You're welcome, gironde! Yeah I agree that complicates things when you can't see the problem yourself. I'll try to work on models using 3DS as much as possible from now on.

As for Lunar Orbiters and O3b, still no success in doing the same thing as Starlink, but I'm working on it

The addon is in its proper place, and I also removed the "replace", but to no avail. I think Bennu only appears in Celestia Origin itself, this one I don't have.

Make sure all folders of 101955 Bennu.zip are installed directly onto the main Celestia folder and NOT onto the extras folder. I assure you Bennu will still appear even without Celestia Origin installed

Hayabusa 2 (2021)

Post #1725by DaveBowman2001 » 15.11.2021, 09:13

Hayabusa 2 is the second asteroid sample-return mission operated by JAXA which launched on 2014-Dec-3 on a four-year cruise to the asteroid 162173 Ryugu. After returning samples to Earth, its mission was extended to include a flyby of the asteroid (98943) 2001 CC21 on 2026-Jul-4, and rendezvous and orbital insertion to the asteroid 1998 KY26 on 2031-July.

This addon only contains updated XYZV trajectory files for the spacecraft that covers its entire prime mission (2014 to 2019) as well as the planned extended mission from 2019 to 2031 which is available on HORIZONS.

XYZV updates to asteroids Ryugu, 1998 KY26, and 2001 CC21 are also included. Two versions of SSC files for the last two asteroids are included for standard and Celestia Origin users

IMPORTANT NOTE: Download first the model and textures by toutatis here.

BUGS:
- Trajectory for the Ryugu phase (2018-2019) is centered around Sol, as the Ryugu-centric orbit of Hayabusa 2 simply does not exist on HORIZONS, therefore the actual sample return maneuvers of April and July 2019 cannot be simulated in high accuracy
- The two gravity-assist flybys of Earth on 2027 and 2028 contain erroneous data which causes the spacecraft to approach Earth inside the core (-6,300 km) :nervious: :insane:
- HORIZONS data ends shortly a month before arrival on 1998 KY26, so as a consequence this isn't simulated, but the last coded data indicates Hayabusa 2 will still co-orbit the said asteroid for many decades to come

Today the DART impactor took off to bowling in asteroids.
No joke, this probe is a test to push the small moon Dimorphos (160m) of the asteroid (65803) Didymos and modify its orbit. The goal is to move the Earth away from a potential asteroid in collision orbit.
The 3D model is that of Deep Space 1 which is slightly similar and which is used here as a generic
The xyzv data comes from the JPL Horizons website is centered on the Sun
The international number of the probe is not yet published

Hi

While browsing the forums, I ended up finding something that excited me a lot. In the Lua-Tools / Spacecraft Collection for Guidebooks Lua Universal Tools v5.2 forum, I ended up finding an add-on for the space probe Mariner 2. The Celestia Motherlode Mariner 2 add-on doesn't show the Venus flyby, but the other version I found on the forum does. I thought some people had never found this addon. And so, to make it easier, I'm going to provide the Mariner 2 addon with Venus flyby here.

The Venus Flyby takes place on December 14, 1962.

Attached is the 33rd launch of the Starlink constellation
Although they are still in rosary formation, a satellite, Starlink-3123 is clearly separated from the group !!!
SpaceX changes the names of the sets from version 1.5: each launch will be called Group 2-1, Group 4-1, Group 4-2, ... (instead of L ..)

finally, the launch of 24-11-2021 will be called:
"NASA DART: Double Asteroid Redirection Test: 2021-110A"

a model exists on the NASA site, it is in stl format but I cannot convert it correctly. It remains invisible without texture and even texture colors do not take on the mesh

Gurren and I worked on converting DART's STL model onto CMOD with some success, but it too cannot properly render textures assigned to it, but it did manage to show colors that were given during processing on cmodview (though the resulting file size is ridiculously large for a model, about 20 MB)

Would you be able to create a textured version of DART spacecraft in the future? I thought about the idea of using textures from other spacecraft to do this.

The DART's core body has a gold texture, so would it be possible to use a texture from another spacecraft with gold mesh for this?

With the solar panels, it could be the texture of the solar panel of any spacecraft.

But I don't know if it's possible to do what I mentioned, because it might not work.

DART on 'https://nasa3d.arc.nasa.gov/models'

the original model is in .stl format for 3D printer and does not describe the areas to be colored. The transformation to .obj or .cmod cannot do this on its own.

I love the work you've done for this spacecraft addon! Here I modified the trajectory of DART to the point it stops moving at the moment of impact with Dimorphos (added with a static explosion plume from the LCROSS addon). Also, I also modified Didymos's barycenter so that it now indefinitely orbits the sun before and after the XYZV runs.

This addon also contains SSC updates to the Curiosity and the two Mars 2020 spacecraft addons. Download them first before installing this addon, which were the following:
- Curiosity by Cham
- Perseverance by SevenSpheres
- Ingenuity by Endeavor35

Good job. It would be really cool to have the whole landing sequence.
