HD 209458 b ("Osiris")

Apparently no one has ever made a texture addon for the classic hot Jupiter. Now there is one. No attempt has been made to render the planet's evaporating atmosphere, since it wouldn't really be visible (unlike with Kepler-1520b). Planet texture is my own work, star texture is modified from one created by trappistplanets. Several atmosphere codes are included. Update 2021/07/24: Replaced the zip file. It no longer has the very bright atmosphere as the default.

I've also attached the standalone version of HD 189733 b that I created for mobile Celestia months ago. (The same textures are also included in "ExoplanetUpdates" in my addon thread.)

Update March 2023: I've replaced the default planet textures in both of these addons with ones based on the latest colors from TrueColorTools. The old textures are still included as alternate surfaces. There are now also addons for these worlds by MrSpace43 and trappistplanets.

GJ 9482, a.k.a HIP 70849

This system is comprised of a very wide binary of a K-type star and a brown dwarf, and there is one planet in this system and it orbits the K-type star.

The planet, GJ 9482 Ab.

These are great textures, though there's also an addon about pulsar planets and they include auroras on these planets.

Isnt that one of the principles of Project Sisyphus? Each and every person has its own version and its own opinion of what each planet looks like. Its no problem if a person does a planet someone else did, since they probably have a different opinion on it.

TOI-700
TOI-700 is a somewhat nearby system (about 100 light-years away), and has three known planets discovered with the TESS space telescope in early 2020. The outermost planet, TOI-700 d, is a terrestrial planet that orbits within the habitable zone and the first potentially habitable planet discovered with TESS. TOI-700 is the third-nearest known system with potentially habitable planet(s) that transit their host star, after TRAPPIST-1 and LHS 1140. The system is also somewhat interesting for having a Neptunian-type planet orbiting between two terrestrial planets, which isn't very common.

Modified from trappistplanets' addon for this system.

toi700planets.png

Download: TOI-700.zip - now on celestia.mobi!

Update February 2023: The fourth planet in this system, TOI-700 e, was confirmed in January. In the time since this addon was posted, several other people have created textures for this system's planets - SpaceStalker, Gurren Lagann, Astro, and Karistus - and DaveBowman2001 has replaced the addon on celestia.mobi with a combined version. Since I'm updating some of my exoplanet addons, I've updated this TOI-700 addon to use Gurren's texture for planet e; the original version can still be downloaded from the link below. Unlike the combined addon, my updated addon uses the most up-to-date parameters for all four planets.

Update July 2023: Attachments removed to save space on the forum. Use the Google Drive link above.

Wolf 359

Post #50by Trolligi 112477 » 07.01.2022, 18:38

Wolf 359 is one of the nearest stars to us (it's the 4th nearest star system to the solar system, counting brown dwarfs (excluding WISE 0855-0714)). It has two known planets, discovered in 2019 by HARPS. The layout is similar to that of Proxima Centauri but more extreme.

The two planets of Wolf 359 (b left, c right). In this addon, c is represented as an ocean world.

Some exoplanet addons that were already included in an addon such as NearbyExoplanets, but I've uploaded separately for celestia.mobi:
Some of my addons that were submitted by DaveBowman2001 or SpaceExplorer:
(Unless I reupload them at some point, I shouldn't be considered the maintainer of the addons in the second list.)

Of course, TRAPPIST-1, Kepler-1649, 55 Cancri, LHS 1140, and Kepler-186 can be found in my addon thread, and now on celestia.mobi as well. Many of the addons posted by me and others elsewhere in this thread are also there.

COCONUTS-2b but known earlier

Star and planet, but closer than the actual distance of 6900 AU.

To compensate the loss of Barnard's Star b (whyyyyyy), i decided to release this addon i had stored here for a while. Enjoy this planet of solitude, separated from its star by 6900 nice AU of voidness!

TrES-2 Ab

Post #54by SpaceExplorer » 06.03.2022, 21:06

My first exoplanet addon... TrES-2 Ab, the darkest planet ever discovered. The textures are by Edasich. In his addon, posted on Motherlode in 2010, this texture was used in TrES-4 Ab, but I decided to use this texture in TrES-2 Ab. This addon is also modified by me to be compatible and not create duplicates in the Sirius_Alpha Exoplanet Catalog.

NOTE: Requires Sirius_Alpha Exoplanet Catalog for this addon to work.

although not originaly posted here, you forgot that i also made a kepler-90 system too (on my addons list)
but than i did this total redo yesterday viewtopic.php?f=23&t=22123&p=156925#p156925 for a more plausible system

--EDIT--

although no one posted any addons for kepler-47 here, people (me and fyr) did made an addon for the system
forgot to add kepler-47 in the list

I'm counting ones that are currently posted on the mobi site, and yes I'm aware there are a lot of exoplanet addons missed. Well that list will be dynamic anyways (hence the "as of <date>" at the bottom)

Happy 2-year anniversary to Project Sisyphus! Sometimes the best systems are the hazier ones.
