Quite frankly, if you've decided you don't think it's a dead project that isn't going to end up being released, you are perfectly free to just leave it and move on.

The fact that several members of this community continually need to attack and disparage them every time celestia.Sci gets mentioned is unnecessary and as I said, not a good look.

Look what I found!

https://arxiv.org/abs/2005.06671

To add support for accurate planetary ephemerides and interactive features, we integrated the engine into celestia.Sci, a general space simulation software. We demonstrate the ability of our engine to accurately handle a large range of distance scales by using it to generate videos of lunar landing trajectories.

well if only they were willing to release their source code to be incorporated into the official celestia... does the sci team still exist?

Maybe we should contact Dawoon Jung...maybe they can share SOME parts of the code, which are not connected to their academic or scientific ambitions...

yeah it should be possible to reach him, he is active on twitter, https://twitter.com/dirkpitt2050
however consider most of the extraordinary features are under .sci, I doubt whether and how much he could share.

Can you ask him about donating minor and strategically not important functions (codes) to the current Celestia development team?

Some kind of minor collaboration would be very nice...I'm sure it can't hurt celestia.Sci in any form!

any way to make a addon that adds the leasing to a black hole you want it on (for example:cubic's red vortex)?

To answer your question and drop the SNR in this thread even further...

My lensing is fake. The mesh is warped around the center, and there's a sphere inside it with inverted normals to help sell the effect. The only way you can add lensing to your own black holes is to either borrow my models, or learn how to fake it yourself.
