The programs that I have been creating for almost a month use the spectra of the Sun and Vega from this source:
https://www.stsci.edu/hst/instrumentation/referen ... /astronomical-catalogs/calspec
They were too high accuracy, so I reduced it to 5-nanometer steps, to the accuracy of the Stiles & Burch 1959 10 Degree RGB CMFs standard human perception curves that I use. The spectra of the Sun and Vega can be plotted by the program, the result:
Hopefully, by analyzing the spectrum, you can verify the accuracy of the statements of other forum members.

Here's a brighter version of my star textures...

...and a set of lens flares to go with them. You'll have to add these manually to every star you want them on; I've included some examples. You could also hack the model to add colors I didn't think of, or display a completely different sprite instead.

Actually flares in Celestia could easily be changed in the pre-1.5.0 versions. That is why here are flare addons on the Motherlode

I remember an easy equation to convert temperature in kelvin to waveleght in nanometers to find the color
log((2897000/2)/KELVIN)*101.00945
but i dont remember the way to convert green to white https://www.livescience.com/34469-purple-stars-green-stars-star-colors.html

You don't need to repeat the question again.Ezebytez wrote:Why arent the textures working? do i need to do something? btw im on mobile.
By the way, please do not necropost, as there hasn't been a reply to this topic in over a year.
Been into Astronomy since the age of 3 or 4. Started making planetary textures back in late 2016. 3D animator who makes high quality animations in Cinema 4D. Likes to sometimes, deliberately torment myself with the stupid green screaming apatosaurus that is Arlo.
