Its called tidal locking thermodynamics. One half of the planet always gets the heat from the star, the other half never does.

It's not the scientific fact that i doubted but its representation, it's too perfect to be natural... :biggrin:

=> the atmosphere and water move, so the iced line should not be a nice line... :wink:

I know its hard to believe, but some things just are "perfect" in the world. Have you seen crystals yet? :smoke:

First of all, thank you for the complement, and second, yes indeed this is the collision between Earth and Theia that would lead to the formation of our Moon.

My candidate for a potentially habitable pulsar exoplanet - PSR B0329+54 b
The object has temperatures relatively suitable for habitation and possibly an ocean world :smile:
