Project "Celestia Origin", release dated April 30, 2020
@trappistplanets
I am uploading rar files of the 200430 Core while I type this.
The other two are mostly just bigger textures I believe.
Have you considered just using the 7-zip portable?
No install needed.
The rar files are accompanied by par2 files generated by multipar.
I prefer quickpar, but it behaves funny under W7 x64.
I hope this gets you started.
Good luck.
Janus.
EDIT: Done.

There are a total of 42 rar files, .part01through part42, you need them all.
The par2 files are for fixing them if there are any download errors.
This is the same format I use to upload fixes or projects to customers.
I avoid multi GB files because they normally take me several tries to upload, a limitation of my connection.
Have you tried the portable version of 7-zip for opening the 7z files directly.

If you are having trouble with rars and pars, the above are probably a better answer for you.

I cannot understand why he himself did not use the 7zip archiver, if he only needed to extract files from archives. Moreover, for simple unpacking on a non-system drive, no extended rights are required.Janus wrote:Have you tried the portable version of 7-zip for opening the 7z files directly.

At a guess, they are working on a W10 system with a normal/limited or guest user account.
Installation may not be an option, nor may be other normal solutions.
I have seen accounts locked down such that they could not install, or even run any programs not already installed or authorized.
Sometimes the portable versions of programs get around the limitations, sometimes not.
Even usb may be locked out, along with running downloaded programs.
The lunacy of W10 knows few bounds.
On the other hand, if they have winrar installed, any recent version opens 7z archives.

Janus and Art Blos - As far as i know, Trappist's PC runs Windows 7 (the same OS i use), but his PC has an admin password put by his parents when he downloads some programs (on this case, 7zip).

The most reasonable solution is to ask the parents (administrators) to install 7zip.Gurren Lagann wrote:Janus and Art Blos - As far as i know, Trappist's PC runs Windows 7 (the same OS i use), but his PC has an admin password put by his parents when he downloads some programs (on this case, 7zip).

Both of yuo should update. Microsoft recently stopped supplying new security updates to Windows 7, meaning both of yuo are vulnerable to hackers. Yuo should update to either Windows 8, Windows 8.1, or Windows 10 (Ik this is off-topic but I saw this and decided to warn everyone, plus posting this on the Celestia server means not everyone will see it, most people on the forums are not on the Discord, which means a lot of people won't know this and could be hacked)Gurren Lagann wrote:Trappist's PC runs Windows 7 (the same OS i use)
Also, something on-topic now, CO looks awesome! I haven't tried it yet as I fear to lose some addons that aren't in CO, but when I figure out how to not lose them I definitely will get CO

They can update but they choose not to, let's leave it at. (Plus any sensible person knows not to go to sketchy websites and has anti-virus software installed.)TheLostProbe wrote:Both of yuo should update. Please understand that to many of us, W10 is not an upgrade.
For general users who just browse the web and have no need needs beyond games, it may be appropriate.
It never is in my opinion, but for people with minimal needs, I am open to the idea it might be usable to them.
To me however, it remains an insecureable abomination with a broken by design GUI.
Before you talk about vulnerabilities, those are vastly overblown, I have firewalls, and I never run IE.
No OS that reports the programs you run, when you run them, how long you run them, mirrors user profiles and setting to the cloud with no ability to opt out of this data collection, can be considered secure by any reasonable measure.
Nor could I keep doing the work I do if my customers believed their I.P. had ever been on an OS that leaks like that.
I have nothing against W10 existing, but calling an upgrade is not in my opinion, accurate.
I am only on W7 until ReactOS goes beta after being to install and use Windows drivers consistently, then I am off M$ OS completely.
I have tried various linux desktops, but I do not get along with it, I like my drive letters.

Hello, I registered to ask this question and I hope someone can help me. How on earth do I install this on Manjaro KDE Plasma Linux?
I tried right clicking and selecting "Run in Konsole" and I get this:
SO then, I tried running it as sudo by dragging the .sh file into Konsole after typing in sudo. It asked for my pass word but still did not work. I got this message.
I have exhausted my knowledge of how to install this now.
