Can someone please convert a .cmod model to either 3ds or .obj for me

I have a model that I want to modify, but it is in .cmod format. Can someone convert this model for me please. The only program I could find that was capable of this is $50. Hardly worth it to only convert one model and change a color on that model and not use it for anything else. Help please

A few questions first:

1: What is that model and why do you want to modify it?
2: If it's cmod, then it can only be used in Celestia. Where are you porting that model to?

Also, I think only few addon creators and contributors have actually created their own cmod models, so it might be rare for you to get someone to help. But thanks for posting. Hopefully someone will come and help you

Usually the best way to get a compatible model format is to contact the person who created it. They're likely to be able to provide model or its components in any of a number of formats. I've done that for several people.

If you don't know who created the model, please specify the name of the cmod and/or the Addon that it came from. Someone might recognize it.

We know how to migrate a 3DS to CMOD (3DS2cmod v3.2 or cmodview) but I have never found a reverse program.

I modified the model using Anim8or program, then saved it as a cmod. I no longer have the original. I just want to make a color mdification on it.

Where did you get the original model from? Can you find it again?

You might try applying a surface texture image to the model by including a Texture statement in the object's SSC catalog entry. Depending on how the model's materials were defined, the surfaces affected by the texture image might include the areas you want to recolor.
