Where are Algol B and C ?

Post #1by jujuapapa » 11.04.2020, 06:24

Hi,

Interesting by Algol star system, I saw that standard catalog and ajtribick's gaia catalog gave only one star, why ?

All papers give 3 stars for this star system, where are they ?
(e.g.: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Algol or http://simbad.u-strasbg.fr/simbad/sim-basic?Ident=algol&submit=SIMBAD+search )

How can I update a stc file without changing the default present star ?

Thanks in advance.

Most binary stars aren't in the default version of Celestia, mostly because it's extremely hard to add binary stars in an automated way.

I'm not sure what you mean by this. However, you can install my Binary Star Catalog add-on, which includes the Algol system.
