I don't know why. The forum being less used is probably just due to the Discord existing. There is a problem with the forum however, the same problem that the official Discord has - Alexell doesn't respond to anything. And yes, you should join the Discord.

For one, post can easily be lost or buried on the Discord compared to here where the are organised and can be easily found under the appropriate topic. Discord's file upload size limit can be up to 100MB if you have Nitro or the server is at the 3rd Nitro Boost level.

Discord seems better suited to conversations, a quick exchange of words.

The Forum is better suited to Discussions, a reasoned and or structured exchange of ideas.

Like the difference between a newspaper or a magazine, and twitter.
They serve two different needs.
They also make a decent fallback for each other.
Both made stronger by having the other to lean on if needed.

Update: So the Other Discord thing went better than I had expected, actually. In fact in the official Discord the channels have been rearranged to match how I had them in the Other Discord, and I've been promoted to a moderator there. Lafuente_Astronomy is calling nussun by the right pronouns now. And I didn't expect this at all, but Alexell has given Lafuente full admin permissions on the official Discord! Alexell seems to have also enabled poll creation on the forum for non-moderators, so I can finally make those polls I've been wanting to make.

So there no longer seems to be any point in having the Other Discord...except that Lafuente won't let nussun back in to the official one. I have been assured that it's only because of her (past) behavior and has nothing to do with gender... As far as I can tell, her behavior several months ago was problematic, and she was kicked from the server for a valid reason. However, the reasoning behind her ban on January 25 (she was banned, not kicked) still makes absolutely no sense to me. Anyway, the Other Discord will stay, at least until nussun is let back in to the official Discord. I'm communicating with her through DM, as I have been.

Edit: No, I can only make polls in the off topic forums. Odd.

Well, you can keep The Other Discord. I decided some time ago that we will have both of them, and as such, there is no need for you to remove it . That could also mean that we officially have 2 emergency servers as well, so that's what your server will fulfill as well, so that it can be made ready for use should something happen to the main server
