Comcast and AT&T are two examples of large communications companies in the U.S. They both are cable television and internet service providers to individual homes and to companies. (Usually only one such service provider is available in any particular community.) Internet services provided to companies cost a lot more than Internet services for individuals. Apparently John has had experience with both of them.

Hundred admins would have not prevent the blackout of the CML.
So we do not need more admins to keep the CML up and running.
Nor do we need more or other admins just to change everything and design everything new.
Nevertheless you are free to build your own repository (and invent the wheel a second time).

Don't you see the issue here? That's a valid concern. Although I'm not sure if there is much of a better option at this point. Can anything from the current motherlode get carried over so we don't literally have to start from scratch?

Well, as far as I can see: No.
The uploaders/contributors did allow the Motherlode to redistribute the Addons. So you have to gather your own stuff for your new platform.

The issue isn't the temporary downtime, it's that the Motherlode is now very rarely updated. A more active admin would help with that. In fact my first suggestion (on the Discord server) was to get a new admin, but everyone wanted to make a new site.

as stated before i only check add ons . I do not have admin access

but i have time and the knowledge to keep the motherload up to date

but in the last year or so there have not been many addons to check . As in not many submitted
